Helen's House is located in a suburban neighborhood and serves adolescent males, ages 14-21, diagnosed with primary psychiatric diagnoses. Our goal is to help these youth gain the life skills, self-esteem, and other competencies needed to transition back to their families or a more independent living setting. The program provides intensive individual and family treatment; on-site psychiatric assessment and medication monitoring (as needed); on-site nursing services; coordination with area schools; life skills training; structured recreation and integration into the local community through use of available community resources.
Risking Connections (trauma) model is used by staff as well as William Bridges’ Transitional Framework model. Groups and individual therapy follow CBT and DBT principles and address a variety of issues including anger management and emotional regulation skills.
