Possibility Pillows are here! The Possibility Pillow project is about inspiration and self empowerment. Created by Dr. Katey Cofrancesco and designed by Jane Gross, the pillow offers words of encouragement and action for women of all ages. Pillows are $25.00 each and can be purchased at Creative Body Therapies in New Haven, Dava in Hamden, or on line at www.possibilityoinc.com Proceeds will benefit gender-specific programs for disadvantaged girls served by Youth Continuum in the Greater New Haven and Greater Bridgeport communities.
The Circle of Giving is Youth Continuum’s annual fund. By joining the Circle of Giving with a tax-deductible contribution, you will help us to enhance and expand the quality of services for our youth. Gifts to the Circle of Giving will directly benefit children in our programs by allowing us to provide the support and advantages of a stable family life: job and social skills, help with school work, a trip to a museum, a prom dress, music lessons, birthday and graduation celebrations, and many more opportunities. Gifts of Stock: Gifts of appreciated stock offer considerable tax advantages and are as easy as a phone call to make. Matching Gifts: Does your employer match charitable contributions? You can double or even triple the impact of your gift by including a company matching gift form or notifying your employer of your contribution. Youth Continuum gratefully accepts donations of goods or services that meet our current needs. Items should be new and furniture and appliances must be in good working condition. Gift cards always come in handy. Very often, youth entering our transitional and supportive housing programs come to us with little more than a bag of belongings. As we are assisting them with housing, school enrollment and employment, there is an immediate need for basic supplies. Gift cards to Stop & Shop, Shop-Rite, Target or Wal-Mart are extremely useful in helping these youth to stock their pantry or purchase linens and other supplies. Additionally, school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, binders, bookbags, and calculators are always in short supply. For more information about the types of items or services that will benefit our youth, please contact the Development Department at 203-562-3396 ext. 28. Many of our friends help us to meet various needs throughout the year, including holiday gifts for our youth. Contributions from groups such as Murtha Cullina LLP, the Hamden Elks Lodge #2224, American Legion Post 88, Our Lady of Victory Church in West Haven, St. Barnabas Church in North Haven, the confirmation class of St. Brenden’s Church in New Haven, and the Lewis G. Schaenman, Jr. Foundation have helped to make the holidays bright.

Gift cards are a great way to give and allow our kids to purchase the supplies they need, such as clothing, food, books, and household items. Suggestions include:

Other items needed include:
School supplies (pens, pencils, notebooks, calculators, etc...) Personal hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, etc...) Bedding (twin sheet sets, pillows, blankets, etc...) Percent for Youth events increase public awareness and support for Youth Continuum through partnerships with area businesses and restaurants, and promote the good will of our neighboring establishments. Here are some examples of events you can host to support YC: § Dining Donations: Contribute a percentage of dinner tabs for a specified time period. § Retail Rally: Contribute a percentage of sales for a specified time period. § POP-Aid: Collect donations for YC at the point-of-purchase. § Cut-a-Thon: Contribute proceeds from a day’s salon appointments. § Benevolent Bash: Host a grand opening or other celebration and ask guests to bring a monetary donation or item (toiletries, school supplies, etc…) for YC. An event can have a theme around holidays, graduation time, the seasons, back to school, etc… We’d love to hear your ideas.
